Troubleshooting while Brother Printer is Offline or Paused
Often we find the status of Brother Printer either paused or offline. But never try to fix this issue. There are certain things that are required to check if your device status is offline or paused. You are required to check
a. Check whether the machine is power On and there is no error-
> The device might not be powered on if the LCD screen is blank plus check the machine if it is
> Keep checking the screen for any error message. Troubleshoot the issue if LCD screen displays
b. Ensure that your default machine is Brother printer-
You cannot print if your machine has not been set as a default machine. Ensure that your machine is a default printer. If not, then change the settings.
Open the device folder and verify the check mark is on your machine.
- Windows XP- Click Start> Printers and Faxes
- Windows Vista- Click Start> Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Printers
- Windows- Click Start> Devices and Printers
- Windows 8 or later- Open the Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Devices and Printers.

c. Removing all printing jobs-
- Windows XP and Windows Vista: Double click on the icon of the device. Select Printer> Cancel All Documents.
- Windows 7 or later: Right click on the icon of Brother Device> Check what's printing> Printer> Cancel All Documents.
Just perform the above three steps for troubleshooting the issue and check if it is fixed.
